Fountaindale Public Library
The City of Bolingbrook was outgrowing its existing public library and sought public support for a replacement. Through a series of public meetings, a design was developed and approved by a community referendum vote. The replacement library is a 96,000-square-foot, three-story structure that blends into a beautiful natural setting and maximizes views of an existing park.
Along with creative design and structurally challenging floor layouts, the library was designed with sustainability in mind. Green roofs minimize energy use and conserve resources. The project was recently awarded LEED® Gold Certification. The new Fountaindale Library provides a cultural center, technology center, and lifelong learning center for the community.
