Forest County Potawatomi Community Center
The GRAEF team provided a variety of engineering services for the Forest County Potawatomi’s Community Center. The 110,000 square foot facility has a unique eagle design, which is significant to the tribe’s culture as the eagle delivers prayers to the creator. Included in the facility are 3 basketball and 3 volleyball courts, a soccer field, wedding/event/Pow Wow spaces, an aquatic center, a wood shop, administrative offices, and a kitchen.
GRAEF electrical engineers provided complete electrical design including “tunable” lights that change color temperature as the day progresses. The colors can be tuned to meet the mood of any event hosted at the rec center. In addition to the creative lighting and digital lighting controls throughout, the facility has a whole building generator backup and a state-of-the-art voice evacuation system for the fire alarm.
GRAEF was able to incorporate the designs into drawings to provide power connections, rough-in locations for AV equipment, security, and low voltage cabling. GRAEF also coordinated kitchen equipment power requirements.
In addition to the electrical engineering, GREAEF provided extensive site/civil engineering and a full complement of landscape architecture services.
