Foxtown Landing

As downtown Milwaukee’s residential population continues to grow and more workplaces and hotels become pet friendly, Milwaukee Downtown, Business Improvement District #21 (BID #21), Historic Third Ward Business Improvement District #2 (BID #2), and Downtown Neighbors Association (DNA) are leading a unique partnership to create a dog district downtown. Their goal is to provide a community asset and a much-needed amenity for the growing cohort of dog owners, while promoting livability, and enhancing key gateways into downtown Milwaukee.

Development of Foxtown Landing, a $12 million development on a 1.4-acre parcel will be home to a new downtown dog park and brewery, which will address the needs of dog-owning, downtown residents, as the nearest dog parks are miles away.

Foxtown Brewing

Foxtown Brewing will be a three-story, 28,000-square-foot taproom, distillery, restaurant, and event complex on the south end of the site. Pets will be explicitly welcomed onto the adjoining Riverwalk segment and into the first floor of the complex.

Immediately to the north, a publicly owned dog park would be created underneath Interstate 794. An extension of the Milwaukee Riverwalk would link the two and provide public access.

The Dog Park

The underutilized parcel will be transformed into a dynamic, first of its kind, 12,000-square-foot dog park that is envisioned to feature:

  • Separated small and large dog areas
  • Synthetic turf with irrigation for convenient maintenance
  • Security lighting
  • Decorative fencing
  • Water stations
  • Access to & expansion of the Milwaukee Riverwalk system
  • Agility stations
  • Public art
  • Prominent donor recognition opportunities

Plans and fundraising continue to be underway.
