University of Wisconsin-Madison Platteville Sesquicentennial Hall
Sesquicentennial Hall, a cutting-edge state-of-the-art engineering building is the latest campus addition at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The new addition allows all engineering disciplines, computer science, and sustainable and renewable energy programs to operate under one roof. The building itself serves as a teaching tool, to include exposed infrastructure, data-generating building systems to be used in a variety of classes, and an energy-isolated space in which students and faculty can explore building specific questions in the hands-on manner for which UW-Platteville is well-known.
The building connects to existing Busby Hall of Engineering creating a 200,000 square foot complex. Amenities include: multiple laboratories, three classrooms, including two active learning classrooms, an accessible green roof, extensive student study space, conference rooms, a coffee shop, offices for faculty and staff, the College of Engineering Mathematics and Science Dean’s office, and an Innovation Center.
“While showcasing our strengths in the recognition of more than 150 years of being Pioneers in education, Sesquicentennial Hall marks the beginning of a new era for UW-Platteville,” said UW-Platteville Interim Chancellor Dr. Tammy Evetovich. “Sesquicentennial Hall will not only attract more students, but most importantly, provide more hands-on learning experiences that will forever change the future of our students and university.”
