Three GRAEF Projects Named 2026 AIA Wisconsin Design Award Winners
GRAEF is proud to celebrate the recognition of three projects in the AIA Wisconsin 2026 Design Awards program. These honors highlight outstanding achievements in architecture, sustainability, and collaboration across the state.
The Exact Sciences Discovery Campus received a Merit Award for Overall Design Excellence, the UW-Madison College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence (CAI) earned a Merit Award for its innovative design. The SSM Health Outpatient Center in Sun Prairie received a Special Recognition Award in Sustainable Design, celebrating its commitment to environmental stewardship and high-performance healthcare design. GRAEF is honored to have partnered with the project teams to help bring these award-winning visions to life.
Exact Sciences Discovery Campus
GRAEF provided structural, mechanical, electrical, low voltage, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural design services for Exact Sciences’ $25 million, 910-car parking structure supporting the company’s expanded Cologuard testing operations. By implementing a post-tensioned concrete design, GRAEF increased parking capacity, improved safety and openness, and minimized the structure’s overall height.
UW-Madison College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence (CAI)
GRAEF provided civil and structural engineering services for Morgridge Hall, the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s 342,990-square-foot, LEED Platinum home for the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences. The team delivered site design, stormwater management, utility coordination, and structural systems for stairs, handrails, and guardrails, including an innovative stormwater harvesting and reuse system that supports both building operations and site irrigation.
SSM Health Outpatient Center in Sun Prairie
GRAEF provided civil engineering, structural engineering and landscape architecture services for the 90,000-square-foot SSM Health Outpatient Center in Sun Prairie. The team designed a patient-focused and sustainable site that preserves legacy white oak trees, incorporates native prairie landscaping, enhances circulation and parking, and includes features such as EV charging stations, solar canopies, and stormwater management systems, supporting expanded access to specialty healthcare services in the growing Madison region.
