Southwest Airlines Cargo Renovation at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport
Southwest Airlines was moving into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and needed to renovate an existing 27,000-square-foot warehouse to accommodate their cargo receiving and shipping demands. The project also included adding offices, conference rooms and locker rooms for their staff.
To meet a tight deadline at the nation’s busiest airport, GRAEF partnered with Whiting-Turner and utilized Design-Build project delivery, reducing the project schedule by over 30 percent compared to a traditional Design-Bid-Build Project. GRAEF performed project management, architectural services, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering design.
The project was completed on time and within the $1 million construction budget.
