Hoan Bridge Reconstruction Project
GRAEF was selected by WisDOT to provide engineering design services for this complex freeway rehabilitation project. Key elements of the project included redecking of the 2 mile long Hoan Bridge along with rehabilitation details for the steel girders.
Additional work included placement of a concrete overlay on the 29 units that comprise the Lake Interchange. Other elements included bridge replacements linking I-794 with local streets west of the Lake Interchange, construction staging and traffic management.
Due to size and complexity of the project, construction was completed in three years.
To address the aggressive schedule and significant project demands, GRAEF teamed with Michael Baker Jr. to address the entire design contract.
