Pulaski Park Pedestrian Bridge

As part of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s (MMSD) ambitious flood control project for the Kinnickinnic River, Pulaski Park's outdated concrete pedestrian bridge required replacement. The over 50-year-old structure, suffering from severe deterioration, was no longer viable. The new prefabricated steel bridge, chosen after extensive public input, features a visually appealing bowstring truss design with a curved top chord to complement the park's high-profile setting. Spanning 150 feet, the bridge is made from weathering steel to seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings. The sturdy concrete deck ensures durability, while the bridge is supported by concrete abutments and adorned with natural cut stone slope paving. This stunning new addition not only enhances the park's aesthetic but also promises a safe and enduring crossing for the community for many years ahead.
