Great North Commons

The Great North Commons facility will be a three-story, 40,500-square-foot bar, restaurant and event space venue in the shadows of Lambeau Field and the Resch Center on Armed Forces Drive. This new 3-story facility will serve sports fans, concert goers, and Green Bay residents and visitors alike with several dining options including a pizzeria and a western bar/restaurant all in one building. It will also provide a 4,600-square-foot event space on the top floor with indoor and outdoor patio space offering amazing views of Lambeau Field and the Packers outdoor practice facility.

GRAEF was retained by Schuh Construction, Inc, along with our architectural partner Kahler Slater, to complete detailed design including design-build tenant space buildout. Our experts provided structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and civil engineering services along with landscape architecture design for the project. The facility owner has plans to open the doors of the Great North Commons in March of 2025 to serve customers during the NFL draft. Due to this expedited timeline, GRAEF and Schuh are drawing on years of experience in a design/build approach to create a collaborative and accelerated construction process.

The GRAEF mechanical and plumbing/fire protection engineers crafted a detailed design for the implementation of commercial kitchen needs such as largescale equipment and enhanced fire protection systems. Our structural, electrical and civil engineering teams designed the structure and infrastructure needed to support the three distinctly different spaces in the Great North Commons, while GRAEF landscape architecture experts focused on the exterior aesthetics surrounding the building and engaging the street.

Long-standing relationships with the Village of Ashwaubenon and Schuh Construction have created a more seamless review and approval process throughout this project. The Great North Commons will be a strong addition to the Lambeau Field area and the Village’s sports and entertainment scene for many years to come.
