Froedtert Hospital Parking Blue Structure Wins Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Concrete Design Award
GRAEF is excited to share that the Froedtert Hospital Parking Blue Structure has been selected as a winner in the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association (WRMCA) 44th Annual Concrete Design Awards in the Education and Healthcare category!
In summer 2025, Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin opened the five-level “Blue” parking garage, a 2,400-space, post‑tensioned concrete structure featuring smart parking technology, EV charging, and a skybridge to the patient tower. Engineered for a 75‑year lifespan, the project used advanced low‑carbon concrete mixes to enhance durability while cutting embodied carbon by 20%, saving more than 2,200 tons of emissions.
It was an honor to be recognized alongside our project partners. Congratulations to the entire project team and thank you to WRMCA for this recognition!
