Daytona Beach Main Street Arch Restoration Selected as American Public Works Association's Public Project of the Year, Structures Less Than $5 Million
GRAEF is proud to share that the Daytona Beach Main Street Arch Restoration has earned national American Public Works Association (APWA) recognition, receiving the Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Structures – Less Than $5 Million category. Originally built in 1936 as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal, the arch is a historic pedestrian bridge connecting the Boardwalk to the Daytona Beach Pier.
The restored arch retains its historic appearance while delivering the structural reliability needed for future generations. This recognition from APWA highlights the project’s thoughtful integration of preservation and engineering—demonstrating how careful planning and innovative design can extend the life of meaningful community assets.
GRAEF is honored to receive this award and proud to partner with the City of Daytona Beach to ensure this landmark remains a lasting symbol of the community’s heritage.
