GRAEF proudly participated in Canstruction again this year. Canstruction is an international hunger relief charity that raises millions of pounds of food each year for local food banks. Each year, Canstruction chapters host citywide competitions where teams of design industry professionals compete to create CanArt® structures made entirely out of canned food. These stunning CanArt® creations are put up on display for the public to see before ultimately being donated to feed the hungry.

Upon the conclusion of the exhibition, the sculptures will be “de-canstructed,” and the food will be donated to the Jewish Community Pantry, a program of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center. For nearly 50 years, the Pantry has provided emergency food and community resources to residents facing food insecurity in the Metcalfe Park and Amani neighborhoods on Milwaukee’s north side.

GRAEF raised $3,000 and purchased 3,500 cans to help create our dog sculpture following the theme "Can you dig it?" this year.
