I-57

IDOT I-57

GRAEF developed Highway Plans for a 4” resurfacing of I-57 from I-294 to IL Route 1. Pavement patching, retaining wall modifications, and drainage improvements were included in the improvement. GRAEF completed two field visits and a field patching survey and reviewed prior improvement plans. GRAEF also reviewed IDOT’s Drainage Investigation Report and implemented the recommendations into the proposed improvement plans. Additionally, there was the potential to permit buses to utilize the outside shoulder in both directions. GRAEF reviewed the implications of this proposed shoulder usage, including gore elevation analysis and drainage implications.
