Milwaukee Climate and Equity Plan
GRAEF served as the prime consultant to the City of Milwaukee’s Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) for the creation of the City’s first Climate & Equity Plan (CEP). The City led the initial phase of community engagement and data gathering but lacked the in-house capacity to produce the final version of the plan. GRAEF’s role included assembling materials researched by the City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity and various topical subcommittees and transitioning this material into a cohesive final product. The Task Force and subcommittees’ work were finalized in the Plan as the “10 Big Ideas,” each focusing on a different focus area for the City.
GRAEF’s role included the coordination of three project sub-consultants including a climate technical analysis firm and a visual artist who provided top-notch imagery to tell the story of the CEP. GRAEF also coordinated efforts for the City to track their greenhouse gas emissions through ClimateView, an innovative online platform that allows anyone to track the City’s progress toward the goals. GRAEF compiled the final plan content into a user-friendly, accessible web-based format using ArcGIS StoryMaps.
