Miami International Airport FedEx Cargo Distribution Center Expansion

GRAEF provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and site/civil engineering services for the expansion of the existing FedEx international cargo and parcel warehouse and office facility located in Miami, Florida, adjacent to Miami International Airport (MIA).

The facility expansion was designed to support the growing operational needs of FedEx’s MIAR hub, including enhanced logistics capabilities and improved administrative functions. The new office spaces were planned to accommodate both the expanded FedEx MIAR operations and regional management teams, as well as the new U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operational and inspection offices, ensuring compliance with federal inspection and security protocols.

The total expansion encompassed approximately 169,000 square feet, including 27,000 square feet of office space and 142,000 square feet of warehouse space. The design emphasized operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and future scalability, aligning with FedEx’s strategic goals for regional and international cargo handling.
