Francis Parker School

Francis Parker School

Originally constructed in 1962, GRAEF has had the privilege to work with Francis W. Parker School throughout its history to provide structural design for several expansions and renovations. Located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, the school is home to grades JK through 12.

Among challenges faced by engineers during projects at the Francis Parker School were a building height limitation, design for a state-of-the-art auditorium with a catwalk and theatre-in-the-round, and maximizing the amount of seating within the auditorium.
