Concordia University Kapco Field
Concordia University’s new 130,000-square-foot NCAA Division III collegiate field is the home of both the Concordia Falcons and the Northwoods League team, the Lakeshore Chinooks. The synthetic turf baseball field opened in spring 2012.
GRAEF was retained to design the baseball field and surrounding site on the campus. The field was designed on a quick timeline and incorporated many unique design items based on input from former Milwaukee Brewer Robin Yount. The all-synthetic turf field design includes dugouts, bullpens, stadium lighting, bermed grass seating, concessions and restrooms below stadium, and multiple viewing decks/platforms. GRAEF also designed the entrance plaza and site amenities to create a distinctive venue. GRAEF provided site/civil, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical engineering and landscape architecture services.
