Southwest Airlines/Airtran Integrations
After Southwest Airlines acquisition of Airtran Airways, the two airlines had to integrate their terminal services.
GRAEF provided architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services at Pittsburgh International Airport in Pittsburgh, PA and General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, WI. Work included remodeling terminal space, bag service offices, ramp offices, ATO, ticket counters, and gate operations and areas to be vacated and moved to different concourses. GRAEF had to address important security and fire protection concerns during the design and also ensured the projects were phased to keep the operations functional during the relocation.
