Fisher Island Development
Fisher Island is a unique luxury residential project situated on about 235 acres of an island across Government Cut from South Miami Beach and across Fisherman's Channel from the Port of Miami, with about 2,000 feet of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean. The project now includes about 900 residential condominiums, a retail/ commercial center, a private club (former Vanderbilt Estate), a 9-hole golf course and marina facilities for about 120 yachts.
GRAEF has been intimately involved in the development of this project; initially responsible for securing all the necessary environmental permits necessary to start the project; then, providing civil engineering services on the site infrastructure; and, coastal engineering services for the main marina, visitor's marina and breakwaters; as well as designing both the mainland and island ferry docking facilities. The firm continues to provided as-needed environmental and engineering services to the master developer, the community association and the Fisher Island Club, most recently providing such services for the renovation of the main marina, for the replacement of seawall along the north side channel and for renovation and expansion of portions of the former Vanderbilt Estate, including the Salon and Spa.
